The Knife honored

The Knife has received Expressen's (a daily Swedish newspaper) music award "Spelmannen" of 2009. This anual award has been given out since 1957. The Knife got the following motivation from the jury: "With visual live performances and a knife sharp artistic integrity Karin and Olof Dreijer opens the door to romance and to avantgarde. When the door shuts behind the watcher it  leaves you floating around in a Matrix-like state. Delighted and frightened we participate in a masked game that is acting in the hidden."

The Knife win two SAMA's

Yesterday, The Knife won two awards from SAMA (Scandinavian Alternative Music Awards). They were nominated for three awards ("song of the year", "album of the year" and "artist of the year"). "Marble House" won the "song of the year"-award and the "Silent Shout"-album won "album of the year". Covenant, on the other hand, won "artist of the year". The Knife did not attend the award show and SAMA jokingly said that Karin and Olof couldn't make it since they were at a scaby pizzeria in Sundbyberg (a suburb in Stockholm), but it should be regarded as nothing more than sarcasm.

Monsieur Moose was at SAMA and took pictures of the awards that are shown below.
