of the track "Colouring of Pigeons" if you are a member of The Knife's mailing
list. The Knife will release a studio version of the music from the opera "Tomorrow in a Year" in January 2010. The music for the opera was written by The Knife together with Mount Sims and Planningtorock.
*update* The album is
to be released digitally on February 1st. And as a double CD album in March
2010.
Fever Ray will be on a
forthcoming compilation CD titled "Musiken Vi Hatar" ("Music We Hate"). On
it Swedish artists will do covers of songs they don't like, and sometimes
hate. Fever Ray's song is "Here Before" from Vashti Buynyan, which has been
performed during her tour. Among the other participants on this project are
Familjen, Håkan Lidbo, Andreas Tilliander and Ebb. The CD will be released
on June 10th. The opera, "Tomorrow in a Year" will be performed on more places than just Copenhagen, where the premiere is September 2nd (with shows 4-5 Sept.) It is now booked on more locations:

Karin will appear
on Røyksopp's
forthcoming release "Junior", it will be out in March. Karin will be
singing on "This Must Be It" and "Tricky Tricky".
According to the
Swedish pop magazine, Sonic, Karin has a solo project in the works under the
name Fever Ray. It is said to be out "early 2009". The Knife are
writing a opera. The Swedish band The Knife and Danish Hotel Pro Forma are
making a opera to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Charles Darwin's
publication of his "On the Origin of Species". The opera will be named "Tomorrow
in A Year". The Knife will do music and libretto while other will work on the
visuals and choreography. "Tomorrow in A Year" will be premiered in September
2009. Karin remixes Karin has a remix on the forthcoming "The Jacket" 12" release by First Floor Power. It will be released on Crunchy Frog (Sweden) the 5th of May.
Karin is featured on a song on the forthcoming CD with Belgian group dEUS. The song is
entitled "Slow". A video has been made for the song. The record, "Vantage Point", is set to be released on the 21st of April.
New release from Rabid
Today Frau Rabid announced that Rabid Record will release First Aid Kit's debut EP, "Drunken Trees" on April 9th. The band consists of siblings Klara and Johanna Söderberg from Stockholm. You can hear their music here. Olof remixes
Olof will remix a track for the forthcoming remix-CD with Nine Inch Nails, entitled "

The Knife win two SAMA's
Yesterday, The Knife won two awards from SAMA (Scandinavian Alternative Music Awards). They were nominated for three awards ("song of the year", "album of the
year" and "artist of the year"). "Marble House" won the "song of the year"-award and the "Silent Shout"-album won "album of the year". Covenant, on the other
hand, won "artist of the year". The Knife did not attend the award show and SAMA jokingly said that Karin and Olof couldn't make it since they were at a scaby pizzeria in
Sundbyberg (a suburb in Stockholm), but it should be regarded as nothing more than sarcasm.
